Background Checks
Prior to employment with the university, all applicants for faculty and staff positions will undergo--and must successfully pass -- a background check, unless a specific and extraordinary exception is granted. All offers of employment will be conditional upon the successful completion of all pre-employment screenings. The elements of a background check will vary depending upon the type or level of position being sought; these may be viewed within the policy.

Onboarding
The candidates onboarding experience sets the tone for the start of their new position. It is advised that the employee’s new hire paperwork is collected and submitted to HCM prior to the employee’s first day of work to create an easier onboarding experience and guarantee that the employee’s first paycheck is received in a timely manner.
Hiring of Temporary Staff
Temporary staff employees are an important component of the university’s workforce. In order to support departments, guidelines and tools have been created to help provide for an optimal and equitable administration of our temporary workforce.
