The Human Capital Management (HCM) Unit implements university-wide mass salary changes and department-initiated employee transaction requests using the RIAS HCM Application. The Unit’s goal is to ensure all employee salary and data changes are accurate and compliant with state and federal regulations, university policy, and bargaining unit contracts. The Unit collaborates closely with Payroll Services, Academic Labor Relations, the Office of Information Technology, HR Consulting, and the Office of Labor Relations.
Employee Self Service
Current employees have online access to view or update their own information including:
- Personal Information (home address, phone numbers, emergency contact information, self identify race and ethnicity information);
- Payroll and Compensation Information (current and past paychecks, voluntary deductions, direct deposit, compensation history, state/federal W-4, W-2 form, sign up for electronic W-2 form);
- Benefits Information (health care dependent summary, benefits summary);
- Login to Employee Self Service.
The following items are changed outside of employee self service:
- Work E-mail Address: Personal Contact Information System (NetID Required);
- Preferred Name in Directory (RU Search): Personal Contact Information System (NetID Required);
- NetID: Contact the Office of Information Technology Help Desk;

HCM User Access (URL Requires On-site or VPN Network Access)
Adding, changing, or removing HCM User access is completed using a RIAS HCM Access Request Form. RIAS Access Request Forms can be downloaded from the RIAS Access Request Forms
HCM System User Blog
The HCM System User Blog website allows for easy communication between the University HR Department and designated users of the HCM system [HCM Preparers and HCM Approvers]. It contains HCM related documents and displays information concerning the HCM System.
